I joined AO's fixed trip to Leh Ladhak in month of June 2024. I would like to throw some light on my journey with them.

Various good points:-
1. Needless to say that Ladhak has heavenly views, pristine landscapes, roaring rivers and such views of natural beauty that one cannot write home about in any review. That review, that part of my journey cannot be put in words. One has to experience Ladhak to know. Words can justify only so much. This part actually not related to AO's experience but what they added to this.

2. We were a caravan of Cars, following in a sequence of Nos 1to 15,. My car was allotted no 9. There was some level of discipline in the proper lane management and the sequence to be followed.

3. Prateek and Fareed were our caravan handlers for the most part of the journey and they did a very fine job in doing that, they were extremely helpful, approachable at all the times. Being instructive is part of their job, at some places felt odd, but did understand, that they feeling responsible for our safety which is their highest priority.

4. At one point while returning from Leh to Manali, where i happened to lose my IPhone at a place where we had some food on the way. A big Kudos to AO team including prateek, fareed, KD who coordinated the whole effort of getting the phone back from that place delivered to me in Manali. I wud offer my thanks to the owner/employee of that local restaurant too, who was honest to this effect.

5. The other participants (padmaja mam, raka mam, Gurpreet, doctor uncle and mam, panth sir, praveen sir) in the journey, were all an awesome company to keep. They were in fact a big part of our expedition experience with AO, most of them treated us as their own kids, their own son/brother, I take a bow to them for showing such love and affection to us. They actually made my journey memorable and will be forever be remembered as such.

Some points of dissatisfaction :-

1. When one of the founder of AO joined us as part of our journey in Srinagar, the lane discipline went out the window of Car no 11, who was always at place no 2, We were repeated told to follow the sequence with exception of the car no 11. I was driving a manual creta which was taking effort in picking initial gears in that terrain, but i still needed to follow the sequence following other automatic cars.

2. I was told in Srinagar Hotel to move my car from my parking to other space of parking so that one of the branded Merc, rover can be parked. This conversation is with Hotel parking manger, my number was given to him by AO team.

3. AO team has captured very fine videos of the place, they had a dedicated team for that. They had an influencer team, a team for capturing videos from drone. In the videos, my car is completely ignored while in the final editing, to the extent it throws the false impression that only mercs, rovers or THAR join their expedition. It also tells that only such cars go to ladhak and survive. But the reality is very different, during the initial phase of the journey, a merc had certain technical problem and cudnt continue the journey at all. A crew car a tata nexon broke down in leh and had to stay back there for an additional day to get the repairs, but thankfully my car passed all the passes of bad stretches quite beautifully without single scratch on the underbelly. So its not always about the car. For that matter, any car or machinery can break down any day.

4. We were all interviewed individually by Ao team on pangong lake, other places etc. Our individual interview or any interaction of us has not been captured in the videos by them. But some participants' interviews are coming twice thrice. Its least expected from AO to do such things as to make any one feel not included.

Conclusion

I will remember Ladhak for its views (obviously), the participants I went there with, who treated us at their own. The handlers so mentioned Fareed and Prateek. Rest is out of sight, out of life.

Hence forth in view of this song I have booked third trip for scandinavian with AO which is expected to be held in Oct 24 .

I must say that the group trip to ICELAND I recently went on was simply amazing! I was thoroughly impressed by the excellent driving experience. The itinerary was meticulously planned and allowed for a perfect balance of sightseeing and relaxation. Our tour guide Prachur & Fareed were highly knowledgeable and extremely warm, making the experience even more enjoyable. The accommodations were very comfortable and conveniently located. In conclusion, I strongly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a fun, stress-free, and memorable travel experience with a fantastic group of people, and with an amazing driving experience that made our journey smooth, exciting and hassle-free.

When it comes to road trip, it’s Adventure Overland only. This company gives a new definition of travel. I like the most about AO is love and care they take of each and everyone. Sanjay and Tushar are great humans and the most friendly persons. Prachur and other Staff members are also helpful . I had been 3 times with AO. Each trip was memorable for me with new and different experiences. Ladakh expedition was the most adventurous and thrilling drive experience for me. I would love to have road trips with adventure overland in future.

A trip to Ladakh was long on my bucket list, but did not want to be ferried around in a taxi or simply fly in via an aeroplane. So, when I found 'Adventures Overland' had a self-drive tour to Srinagar-Kargil-Leh-Pangong Lake, I felt, it was time to get one item checked off my list. I am based in Bengaluru and this company is out of Gurugram, so I did all the bookings online, but I was skeptical on how the trip would be. I was traveling with my father, who is 72 years and for the terrain, I had some additional questions bothering me. But right from when I got connected with Akshay, he was very reassuring. His team, Prateek, Gulab, Gaurav and Hari Bhai also had a service first approach. If we said it, they took care of it. Like on one instance, we radioed about Ganne ka ras (sugarcane juice) available on the roadside near Amritsar. The entire convoy stopped and we all had the fresh juice. On another occasion, some of us when to a paan shop. When it was time to pay the bill, Akshay came in from somewhere and said, they would take care of it. So, when they said, all expenses covered, they meant it.
On the challenging terrain to Pangong Lake, some cars had issues like tyre puncture, air filter clogging, but in no time, the team was at it. They never left anyone stranded. A special shout out to Hari Bhai for rescuing the last man every time.
Having walkie-talkie radios was of great help in communications. For the convoy, the group had simple and easy to follow rules, where the lead had the last say. So, it made convoy driving and the drive in the mountainous terrains quite straight forward, with broadcasts of bad roads ahead, diversions or on-coming traffic.
My father summed up the experience in very simple words. He said, it felt like we are baraatis where every small ask was met with a quick response and a smiling face. In all 15 days, Akshay always sounded cool and on top of any issues. I would want Adventure Overland to be my partners for future road trips and would recommend it to all my friends who would like a hassle-free pampered road trip.
