We sent our son on a 13 day trip with Adventure Treks. Our son canoed, backpacked, hiked and white water rafted. He's always liked these kinds of activities with us, but the experience was made so much more special by the AT instructors and the other kids on his trip. He gained real confidence. And most importantly to me, he gained an appreciation for having a positive mental outlook. This is an experience he will always remember.

As a mom who went on 3 life changing Adventure Treks trip as a teenager, I couldn’t wait to see if my son wanted to attend a trip. We are so glad he did and had such a wonderful experience. He has already mentioned other AT trips he’s interested for next summer and the hard part is deciding which one. He raved about the instructors and enjoyed all the activities, including his new favorite, rock climbing. I loved the AT email updates and picture uploads and a couple phone calls during his 2 week trip, but I did ok in between as I knew they were adventuring in the backcountry. Would recommend Adventure Treks 10/10!

My son M is a 17-year-old with a great attitude and a ton of potential. He also spends way too much time on his phone and playing video games. He has worked super hard in school and enjoys some sports, but mostly his big successes were related to video games. Until the Adventure Treks trip to Peru! Since his return we have heard many stories about counting on his group, learning to work with and trust people, trying new things, and discovering history with new eyes. He has even joked about putting his phone down for hours and then not knowing where it is, which was unheard of just a few weeks ago. On top of all that, Max just loved the food, the friends, the instructors, and the mountains! 10 out of 10 for sure. PS Max left "hating" fruit. After a day of fruit tasting in Peru, he has been converted!

My daughter left feeling extremely nervous about who would be there, and if she could handle all the challenges that would be presented... but after two weeks, she didn't want it to end. The instructors provide the framework for the most meaningful experience. She talks about some of the traditions and conversations they had as a group, and I am overwhelmed and so grateful for everything she tells me. THE PROGRAM JUST WORKS. The framework that Adventure Treks has in place is what makes every session work. I think the most valuable results from her Adventure Treks experience were the confidence and independence she felt for being recognized for being her 100 percent authentic self. She made all these relationships on her own. A community built with no social media and all real conversations and experiences is priceless! She returned so happy and confident, and she loves her new friends and the instructors.

They are probably great unless you are the unfortunate soul who has a campsite next to theirs. In a state park where quiet hours are from 10pm-7am, they woke us up at 4:45am. Little regard for others. How about you find another place to host your campers, not a state park where families are trying to enjoy a quiet holiday.

AT trips are incredibly well-run by the office staff and instructors. The teens are highly motivated. The backpacks were strenuous but highly rewarding. Jacob returned from Leadership Summit energized, inspired, and happy! This trip was a great opportunity to begin to take ownership of some of the skills learned on past trips. The instructors have absolutely made the trips. On more than one occasion, Jacob's instructors over the years have had to deal with difficult situations, and their maturity and expertise shone through. Under normal circumstances, the instructors were fun, kind, knowledgeable, and inspiring mentors and teachers. Our son has loved his Adventure Treks trips, and he’s gained a lot of confidence from them over the years.
