We stayed at the AC Marriott hotel recently, we were in town seeing family for the holiday. All I have to say is WOW what a wonderful experience we had . The staff all very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean. But I do want to give a special thanks to our valet Daniel Smith. He was so friendly and kind. Helped with directions and recommendations. His service was 10 stars. Thank you all so much for such a lovely experience.

I’ve stayed at a few hotels in Gainesville over the years and this was hands down the best. Check in and check out each took less than 1 minute. Their valet system using an app was very convenient too. Definitely will be my top choice next time I come back.

I was checking into the hotel with my teenage son and had a confirmed two queen room. I am a high level of loyalty at Marriott (ambassador). Sam or Samantha at the front desk told me they only had king rooms available. I asked for a rollaway bed. She didn’t say sorry. Just said no. I asked if there was another Marriott they could put me in. She didn’t say sorry. Just said no. I asked to speak to a manager. She didn’t say sorry. Just said no. She said no managers were on property. I asked her to call one. She told me the manager would tell me the same thing. She had the worst attitude I have ever encountered in a front desk person. She eventually called a manager and when I asked to speak to the manager she refused. She went into the back office for a very long time and was extremely rude condescending and sarcastic when she came out. She was trying to bait me into some kind of fight but I wouldn’t engage. She was so disrespectful. She belongs working at the department of motor vehicles, not in the hospitality industry. Guess what? Shockingly not shockingly of course there was a 2 queen bed room that her manager told her to release to me. I wound up getting what I wanted but she made it 100% clear that if it were up to her she wouldn’t have given me that room. ||The room lobby and gym was nice and the location to UF was great!

Great hotel and a great location. What truly sets it apart is the staff, from the very first impression with the valet, to check-in to management.

We stayed here when we evacuated from the Tampa Bay area during Hurricane Milton. Not only were they extremely accommodating but understanding as well.

The General Manager was great and kept the old fashioneds flowing. He's an old fashioned expert now.

Ok AC Marriott. Room furnishings a bit dated. We were upgraded to 2 room king suite. Great views of UF. Pull out couch was extremely uncomfortable to sit on with metal bar in the way. Bed was overly firm in our opinion. Room had small refrig and sink area. Large kitchen table with 4 chairs and a TV sitting area. Valet parking is quite tricky with narrow alley and sharp U-turn needed to access driveway. Only one attendant working so it took awhile. We were in town for a basketball game so didn't spend very much time in the hotel itself. Great location to visit UF but no parking and difficult in/out with your vehicle make it less desirable.

Pros: hotel is convenient to UF and many restaurants; front desk was welcoming and quick. Cons: room was basic; housekeeping issues (broken reading light, slimy gunk on faucet, stained wall, fuzzballs, hair on the toilet, shattered elevator panel mirror in hallway); valet parking only. Seemed like a party hotel that needed a deep clean.

I love the location, hotel is pricey but that’s what I would expect. Service was great on all sides of there operation! From front desk workers and cleaning staff to the amazing valet crew in the morning. They offered to do pretty much anything I needed regarding helping us get in and out of the hotel! Thank you AC

I’ve stayed at this property many times—there aren’t a ton of Marriott properties in Gainesville. I’m consistently disappointed that this is a location that doesn’t really value or honor BonVoy status. You’ll never get a status-based upgrade here. In fact, you have to pay just to get a room on a higher floor. It’s honestly ridiculous and in the 75+ nights that I stay at Marriott properties, I look forward to this property the least. There is no self-park and the valet is expensive and they get bogged down at peak hours. The gym is pretty mediocre as well. I think in the future I’ll be opting for the Eleo, given that Marriott loyalty doesn’t mean anything to this location.
