Dirty. Bad service. Location of this motel is good. But that’s the only positive. Our bathtub was not cleaned properly and had feces on the outside. The young man at the front desk wasn’t helpful. All he could say was “oh”. I’ve stayed here in the past & it was fine. But has gone downhill these last few years. I will not be staying again.

We stayed one night at the Vagabond Inn and were very satisfied with our experience. The room was clean, ac worked well, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was courteous and allowed us to check in a little early since there were rooms available. We used the pool, which was also clean and a good temperature for the June heat. The breakfast in the morning was continental and met our needs (we ate cereal, oatmeal, and a toasted waffle). We would come back and recommend it to others.

With its separate 2 bunk attached room, the Vagabond Inn is a great option for large groups.
The location is perfect. It's close to everything, and an overall good hotel. When we stayed our 3 nights there, along with my brother & wife, we could have had a better experience.
Good: Location, continental breakfast & coffee, room size, refrigerator and microwave in room.
Needs attention:
1. Our room key reset each time we used it. We had to go to office to renew key if we wanted to get back in.
2. The jacuzzi was closed, the pool was murky, and it had no light, so night swimming was spooky.
3. We had ants invade the entire time there.
We will still visit the Vagabond Inn. We've been here before, but this time, not so good. If you go, be nice, but report anything that reasonably looks like it could become a problem. Help them to raise their standards just a bit.

Vagabond is your standard small motel in Bishop.
Pros: location, Very Basic. Clean rooms.
Cons: shady extra "resort fee" that got waived when we questioned it. They prefer cash. Lol.
They made us re-check in each day we stayed there. So weird! Then they reissue keys 3 times. Kind of a pain in the *@#.
Decent price.
Pillows were so small. Like throw pillows for a couch.

We booked one night at Vagabond. The room was clean and well equipped. What struck me was we were charged extra $5 amenities even though the price we paid on booking dot com was all included. They even had the nerve to leave an envelope inside our room to ask for tip? Tip for what? To provide a clean room or extra amenities? Breakfast was nothing but DIY: make your own toasts, bagel, cream cheese and pour hot water to your own cup of oatmeal.
Dear Vagabond,
You charge $126.77 for one night and another $5 even though you stated that no extra fees on booking dot com. Yet you still ask for tip. Please take that $5 amenities as a tip and make sure you pay your workers accordingly.

I really enjoyed my stay there. Rooms are renovated and modern. Comfortable bedding and sheets. Great service from the front desk staff personnel. They held onto a package for us that was critical to our return trip after a 3 week hike. Kudos to them!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is pretty old and not maintained very well. There was a bench outside near the pool that I thought would collapse if I sat on it. You could literally move it back and forth even though it's bolted to the ground. The first room we were put in didn't have working hot water for shower. It also had the AC unit installed in a way where I had to climb onto the bathroom sink counter to read the temp. We were eventually moved to another room with working hot water in the shower and I could read the AC temp from standing on the ground.

The Vagabond is a nice place to stay. The only reason for the 2 star was because our room had no hot water and the phone didn’t work. When we went to the front desk to complain the clerk said “ oh sorry I forgot to tell you about that. It will be out all weekend”. Luckily we had a friend we could go stay with. We were able to get a refund through hotels.com.
