I had an awesome time at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa. The resort is absolutely gorgeous. As soon as I stepped out of the car and into the resort a sense of calmness took over.
The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. During my time there I asked many questions for them, such as where to eat, where can I find the gift shop, where's the corral , how far is the casino and each time they were patient, friendly and helpful with their answers.
There was a cafe, restaurant , lounge and also a little shop that sold grab and go sandwiches and Starbucks.
The lobby was sooooooo relaxing. There were 2 fireplaces and whenever somebody sat down in one of the large, cushioned sofas or chair,s they came over and asked if you wanted the fireplace turned on. The smell of the fire burning added to the warm and comfy feeling of the resort. It was wonderful!!!
Although I didn't use them there were quite a few pools, with one reserved for adults only and one have a theme park like multi storied slide. It looked like a lot of fun.
There were plenty of activities onsite that I took advantage of with just walking along the trails being my favorite. Each trail was at least a mile and it circled the resort so no way to get lost. I saw deer, lizards, plenty of hummingbirds and a few small snakes. The Cottonwood trees, saltbush, and other folliage surrounded the path that you were constantly being reminded to stay on.There were signs to be aware of coyotes, rattlesnakes and big cats but I saw none (yayyyyyyy) and nobody that I talked to ever saw one. As you walk you can't help but stare at the Sandia Mountains as well as the Rio Grande River- breathtaking.
My room also offered a few of the mountains. Sitting on my balcony just staring at the mountains was just so peaceful. And at night!!!!! the stars were overwhelming!!! so many!!!!
Speaking of my room- loved it!!!! pretty big! The bed was very comfortable.
The hotel is not very tall- only 4 floors but there is a bit of a walk to and from your room to the elevator. The hotel is divided into two parts- the pumpkin and the turquoise.
The only negative I would mention is that although the employees were extremely friendly and helpful, their answers were not always accurate. A few times I would up on a wild goose chase looking for someplace, but the wild goose chase allowed me to see something that I may not have noticed . For instance while trying to find the Cultural Learning center for a tour (highly recommend) I stumbled acroos the House of the Hummingbird. I found several bird feeders with several hummingbirds grabbing a snack.
I would definitely return to The Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa for a visit and I highly recommend this resort!!!
