Whispering Pines Cabin by Kat - Mt Ida, Arkansas

My Best Friend and I stayed in this wonderful cozy cabin 09/6-09/10 which had everything we needed for the 4 days that we stayed. We absolutely loved the feel of the cabin. The sitting area outside the cabin was shaded with tall pines. There were 2 hammocks available to lounge in, a seating area as well as a fire pit with seating. The cabin had games such as cornhole, dominoes, cards and board games. There is a trail just behind the cabin that is clearly marked which led down to the river that was awesome. The sounds at the river was so serene and the different rock finds were great. There was a wash bay to clean our finds from our crystal digging adventures as well as the river. Next door to the cabin is a gift shop with so many different interesting things. The best thing about our stay was our hosts. They were absolutely amazing and so friendly and helpful. We received a text message prior to our arrival that provided us with everything we needed for our stay such as were to eat, stores, and near by activities, parks, and recreational areas. We could not have picked a better cabin and we can not wait to return next year.

Experiencing the charm and beauty of Mt. Ida and the Ouachita Mountains is a must. The history of this region can be felt as you travel through the spectacular forests and crystal clear waters of Arkansas. My husband and I spent a week at Whispering Pines Cabins. Prior to our stay our host Kat sent us great information of the area, local restaurants and hot spots we might enjoy. She was so generous with her time and knowledge and the cabin is immaculate! There is so much to do in this quaint historic town. Kat has several guide books, maps and pamphlets to help you find your perfect vacation while at the cabin. The front porch is great for morning coffee and she has every comfort within. I enjoyed the cozy decor, soft sheets and blankets. She even made sure we had snacks for our hiking excursions. She has hummingbird feeders, chimes and beautifully landscaped plants to make you feel at home. Kat and Keith are outstanding hosts! Thank you for sharing this beautiful oasis you have created.

We had an amazing stay here with Kat. She saved our trip. Everything went wrong for us (no rental car, no way to buy food, you name it), but thanks to Kat's generosity and kindness we were able to still have a fantastic trip. I'm so grateful to her and her whole family. The cabin and surrounding area were fantastic. We would love to come back some day!

What a fantastic cozy cabin! We spent the weekend here and just had an amazing time. The cabin came with small, but important details, like spoons! and tin foil! that I had forgotten to pack. Thank you Kat, for helping my son eat cereal and for keeping our sandwiches dry! There is a wonderful creek behind the cabin (path very well marked) that was great to dip feet in after hot weather. We will be back with the rest of the family!

My family and I loved staying in this cozy cabin! It made for the perfect weekend at the lake. We had a little car trouble during our stay and Keith and Kat went out of their way to make sure we still had a great trip! Highly recommend Whispering Pines Cabin by Kat!

Absolutely adored this cabin and the cabin hosts. It was a perfect place for our family trip to Arkansas. It's not a huge place, but there was plenty of room for our family of four. Our children loved sleeping in the loft! The weather was hot, but the cabin was perfectly comfortable - there is a great A/C unit and plenty of fans. The kitchen was perfect with everything you could need for vacation meals.

Our kids also loved the hammocks out back and spent so much time swaying and relaxing in the pines. We also loved that there were crystals to be found - even right in the back yard!!

We also enjoyed hanging out in the creek, which is a short walk through the woods.

The hosts were onsite while we were there and they were delightful and helpful. We enjoyed visiting with them and their cute dogs!!

Highly recommend this affordable vacation rental. It's perfectly situated away from the crowds but with very easy access to the mines, to Mt Ida (check out the Mt Ida Cafe for breakfast or lunch YUM!!!), Lake Ouachita, and Hot Springs too. I've already recommended it to my friends and I believe several will be booking.

We spent a week at the Whispering Pines cabin, and had an awesome experience! Kat and her family are amazing hosts, the location is so convenient, the Lake Ouachita area is incredible, we loved the cool clear stream just a short walk through the woods behind the cabin, and the pines really do whisper. Thanks Kat and Keith!
