Wow, what an amazing experience!! We had so much fun riding (for the first time for most of us!) at Paso Pastures. Our guides were so very patient, friendly and helpful and really helped us to feel safe and comfortable with the horses. They explained everything in such a way that even my 8 and 10 year olds were able to understand and feel confident about. The scenery was beautiful; the trail passed oak trees and cows and traversed gentle hills. Initially I was a little nervous about the idea of riding a horse but these horses are so well trained and gentle and we felt like we were in very good hands with our knowledgeable guides. We had a truly wonderful time and of course big shout outs to our horses Ranger, Wilma, Bella, Romeo and Willie! We will definitely be back.

My husband and I celebrated our 26th Anniversary at Paso Robles Pastures. The ride was AMAZING! The green rolling hills were so beautiful and our horses, Wilma and Ranger, made our ride so much fun! After our ride, we enjoyed a delicious bottle of red wine along with our picnic. It was a perfect way to start our anniversary weekend. ❤️

My daughter and I had the best time at the ranch! Fantastic, well cared for horses, beautiful barn and trails. Great guides and barn friends. Felt like we were on a ride with old friends and it was our first time. Will definitely be back.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Paso Robles Pastures! Sondra was incredible—so patient and fantastic with the kids. It was the first time the girls rode horses. They learned how to mount, steer, trot, and control the horses with confidence. The setting was beautiful, and everything was perfectly organized to make it fun and safe. This was such a memorable adventure. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, family-friendly experience!

I enjoyed my trail ride. The staff, after getting my details and preference on horse type, set me up with a wonderful half draft who was very pleasant to ride. For those who were not experienced, they were very helpful so they understood the basics. On the trail ride, the guide let the other riders know what to do so the horses didn't do the natural way of going up a hill, where I stayed back so I could let my horse go up hill that is more natural and beneficial to my horse. When I do go to Paso Robles again, I will be heading here again for more riding.

We love this place!!! My friends and I have brought our kids here several times (and will keep coming back)! Vanessa took us on a safe & exciting wagon ride all around the ranch and even stopped up the hill to let the kids run around and explore, and us moms got pictures with a gorgeous view! All kids got a turn on Ruby, Ranger and a little pony plus we got to pet the foals. The horses were so gentle and relaxed around the babies. Vanessa and Shane are amazing with kids (and horses obviously). Made for some amazing memories & photos 🥰

Where do I start?

Our experience at Paso Robles Pastures was super fun and made for a memorable time! Our family often goes horse back riding on our local California road trip adventures and this particular experience was by far the best.

Often times we have observed our riding guides to have a somewhat tough, rugged demeanor, which is expected of cowboys and cowgirls in order to have a strong command over their horses (and the group they’re guiding!).

This time, our guide Kayla was so sweet and warm to both the kids and horses alike, and our time with her, although unexpected, really made for an enjoyable experience.

Our reservation inquiry over text was answered quickly, and we were accommodated on the same day (not sure if this is standard or unusual for this establishment).

I texted back and forth with Vanessa who provided clear directions and detailed payment information. Another positive note was that Paso Robles Pastures also offers riding opportunities for younger riders, 8 years and under. Often times our youngest child has to stay behind but this time he was able to enjoy a ride as well.

As far as professionalism, value, experience and communication, Paso Robles Pastures is a solid 5 stars! Thank you Kayla! Thank you Vanessa! We will be back!
