We stayed in a Yosemite West cottage last winter in 2015, and had a very awful experience. While the house was as described and had no issues with the house itself (besides being outdated), our friends decided to join us last minute and we had to add a couple more people and had to adjust our payment. The ladies that helped us out in opening up more rooms and price adjusting for us at the office were polite and great, they didn't give us any problems. However, after the trip we noticed we were falsely charged $1,000 + for the additional people, and I called to resolve the issue. The lady that handled my refund was pretty rude saying that because we came last minute with a couple more friends it was basically my fault they mischarged us, but they did refund us the money in the end.

The main reason though for the 1 star review was because our house was almost robbed, and they did NOTHING to help with the situation. We came home late one night and I had heard a thud on the other side of the house, but I shook it off thinking it was just snow falling onto the ground. However once entering the home and going upstairs, I noticed the balcony door was completely wide open and there were fresh footprints in the snow out on the balcony. Obviously, we came home right on time when the intruder decided to rob our home but they fled once they heard us. We called the office and they transferred us to whom we think is the manager, who dismissed the fact that it was a robbery attempt and said it was "probably someone trying to sweep snow off of your balcony". At 10 PM at night? Right. Thank you for making your customers feel safe and taking the right precautions to avoid another robbery attempt (/end sarcasm). We called the Mariposa sheriff's office and they did write down a report for this incident but unfortunately could not do more since snow fall was heavy that night and weren't able to come up to patrol the area.

I will NEVER stay under this management again, they were completely unprofessional and I would worry if something did have happened what they would (or wouldn't) have done.

My kids really love this place, the can't stop talking about it. Great atmosphere, rooms might need some attention but over all great!!!
