Oakdale Cowboy Museum is a great museum to check out for historical cowboys and cowgirls from the area and other places.
The staff's were awesome, they also have a gift shop which I loved. I had a great experience when I was in town to check this place out. This place may be small, but it is packed with many historical information and people. I didn't know Oakdale was the Cowboy Capital of the World until I came to this place.

Visiting family in Oakdale & they highly recommended we stop. I love museums of any kind, and this was so well curated! I learned a lot about the area, including serving as home as the great Bushwacker bull. Each item had information on it, so it was easy to get lost in learning. The gift shop is great!

Outside there is a cowboy statue and if you walk east from the entrance, you'll see a stunning rodeo mural. Oakdale's rodeo is an annual celebration and key to the town's identity. This captures that perfectly. Yeehaw!

I attended the Oakdale Rodeo on my way down to camp at Death Valley and then hit the Cowboy Museum on my way home. Happy I made a detour back to Oakdale to check this out. I just wish I had visited the museum before the rodeo and learned about the rules of the rodeo events because I was awfully confused, yet highly entertained. And yes, it was my first rodeo.

The museum is unique and you can see that there’s a lot of care and pride put into the exhibits. The woman working when I visited was so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I really appreciated talking with her!

It’s a quick, easy, affordable, and worthwhile visit for any traveler. If you’re thinking about seeing it, just go for it!

I don't know Oakdale very well had enough money to get my daughter a present in plenty of Taco Bell and whatever we felt like being looked for events in oak so the bright side is it's free but it looks like a little antique store so we were in and out but either way appreciated the fact I had somewhere to go inside and show my daughter something that we didn't really care about for free all she cared about was spending time with her daddy on her birthday so thank you I'm only giving the rating that low amount because I wouldn't suggest you go there looking for a good time But you know what I'm not gonna be like that I'm gonna give you the full star rating Because if you're a country boy you'll love this place I noticed they had so many things you could buy for your horses and what not

Very small quaint museum. Lots of neat little things to look at. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about Oakdale and everything in the museum.
Very neat friendly place to visit. It is a free museum but they take donations and have a small gift shop and their gift shop is also online.

What great impromptu stop. We saw the museum on our way to Yosemite but it had just closed. We made the stop on the way back and it was great! For the cost of a donation we were given a great casual tour. An amazing quick stop. And... The gift shop was authentic, unique and fairly priced.
