Came to the stables for horseback riding as part of a corporate group. Our guides, Bri and Taylor, were amazing. The ride was great. My horse was well behaved and our guides provided excellent guidance to those that needed it.i would definitely return to ride some

Took this trail ride yesterday & had a great time! Brie was our trail guide. She's awesome!! Very talented rider & full of information along the trail. Very entertaining! I live in Rio Verde so it was nice & close to home. Groupon had a great deal. I highly recommend this ride!

Such a fun experience! The owner and staff were amazing, very helpful and full of humor! Definitely recommend if your in the area! Chappy was full of personality, and Charlie was easy going. 😄

Fabulous morning ride. Beautiful environment, well cared for horses and attentive staff. Highly recommend. My apologies for being late. GPS readjusted once I hit the 202. Thanks Brit for waiting and catching me up w the group. I’ll be back for future rides.

On a scale of 1-10… this stable is a SOLID 12.
Troy the owner returns calls personally. The horses are robust & well cared for. They even rotated the horses we rode, with others for the next group ride. The guides are super friendly & helpful; very knowledgeable of the outdoors & critters we saw. Dane was a riot! All in all, we had a great wholesome family adventure together & it was super! Most highly recommend!

Seeing the desert on horseback was peaceful and exactly what we were looking for!
The guide got us saddled up and showed us the basics for riding. He told us the names of our horses and answered our questions about them.
On the trail, the guide was a man of few words which was fine with us because we had to ride single file and we wouldn’t have been able to hear anything he was telling us about the landscape or plants. The guide did pause and check on us and advise us when needed.
Our favorite parts were (1) the adorable Australian shepherds who greeted us when we got out of our car and then accompanied us on the ride; (2) crossing the Verde River; (3) feeling like cowboys for 90 minutes.
At the end of the ride I wish we were given a chance to give the horses a treat or something. I know not everyone might be interested in that, but I would’ve enjoyed thanking my horse after the 3+ mile ride.

Such an amazing day and got lucky with same-day reservations. The crew is amazing and the trail ride is beautiful. Miss Kaitlyn, Mr. Biscuits and his son Gravy (no they are not the names of horses 😁) were excellent representatives of this business. They made sure everyone was comfortable and paired horses with stature and riding abilities. Biscuits also provided a wonderful history of the land. Special thanks to my mighty steed "Ajax" for trusting me to take charge. I highly recommend Fort McDowell Stables. (My friend and I are 60) Just do it. You won't regret it.
