Had a nice time. It's winter here and prob the worst time to go and expect any action but with persistence, we landed dinner. The dolphins were also hanging out with us for a few hours. I will hire his charter again.

Met Rick on the beach while visiting and I gotta say he is the definition of southern hospitality, has tons of knowledge on all things saltwater fishing and is very open with it. He gave me some lures and tons of tips and tricks and I got fish with what he told me. I decided to do a charter with him and it was one of the best days of fishing I’ve had. Plenty of fish plus laughs, Rick knows the water and knows the fish and can really put you on them. He also is just a good guy to be around and can keep the conversation going all day. Ended up with around 10-15 from one day with 7 different species. Definitely will go back out with Rick when I’m back in town.

i have fished mostly freshwater for bass since i was 15. i’m 70 now. But when it comes to saltwater kayak fishing, we are never too old to learn new things. i learned plenty from Rick about fishing saltwater on both on the gulf side and bay side. he was a pleasure to be around. his equipment was mostly new and superbly maintained. his knowledge of his local waters was vast. he consistently put us on the fish. and, as we trolled for bigger game on the gulf side, we peddled our kayaks in loose formations, never crossing or tangling lines. this guy can rig a cold cigar minnow to look more alive than the live bait he caught for us at every opportunity. in short, Rick is a pro.

his hobie kayaks (all with pedal-type mirage drives) are fresh, new, and rigged for action. he made the tricky surf launches seem easy. same with the landings.

he has a quiet confidence that makes him a great fishing partner. he was never a know-it-all but always answered our questions.

in short, i recommend Rick for your kayak fishing adventures. especially if you love Hobie kayaks like i do. after fishing with Rick a few times, i fished independently from my own kayak and had much more confidence and fun than i would have with a “blind” start. have fun!!

Had a great time with Rick this morning. He is so knowledgeable about the area. Caught mahi mahi, triggerfish and red snapper. Did I mention that we were surrounded by large sea turtles who spent the entire morning who us. Highly recommended!
