We had a fantastic family vacation at Towering Pines in Saint Germain! The house was very well maintained and accommodating for our 9 guests and 2 dogs. The yard and beach area were ideal with the warm weather we experienced all week. Having the tennis court was an added bonus! Even better I got engaged while we were there.
Hiller was very responsive via text message when we had questions or concerns.
We will hopefully be booking again next year to have an elopement ceremony there.

We stayed at Nature’s Way in Harshaw, WI. If I could leave a zero star review I would. This property is infested with large snakes that come up out of the lake and slither around the house. Daily 5-6 foot snake encounters on our stay. When I contacted Hiller Homes I was basically told there’s nothing they can do. I am confident these snakes are poisonous/lethal and this is an unsafe environment for families to stay in. Will never stay at this location or rent from Hiller Homes ever again.

The cabin on Thousand Island lake was decent, though only had 1 bathroom for 10 people but we made it work. The boat was very nice. My only issue was they charged $129 to fill up a 1/2 tank of gas for the boat. Word of warning, fill up the boat yourself before leaving.

We rented a cabin on lost lake and for the cost of the stay it was truly appalling. The house is beautiful but the service that was hired to clean the home was horrendous. The toilets have not been clean in months and had residue all over. The beds had very cheap sheets which were put on inside out and the wrong way and we had to remake them: the grill and oven have not been cleaned and we had to clean them prior to cooking. The towels that were provided were from Walmart and left residue everywhere. For almost 8 grand a week you would think the home would be clean. There are spiderwebs and dirt and debris all over the floor. The vacuum that was provided didn’t work. We would not return due the dirt and grime.

My family and I are staying at the Heron house. We knew it wasn’t going to be completely updated, but I didn’t expect that the furniture would be broken, the house smelling musty and like sewage, outside smells like gas/ propane, mold in the downstairs bathroom, and just not clean. We had to put linens over the chairs to be able to sit on them because they were that gross. All the rocking chairs are broken. A broken dining table chair. We won’t even use the kitchen utensils because of the state of the home. We have stayed with Hiller and always had a great experience, but this time was extremely disappointing. We have sent Hiller pictures and videos without response yet. I would never rent Heron house again.

Beautifully maintained and quality rental property!
Our family of 18 had ample room for sleeping, playing, meal prep and dining! Cleanliness top notch! Awesome outdoor property area and swimming area. We had ages 70- 2 years. Everyone was comfortable and had plenty to do.

I don't write reviews very often but in this case I am compelled to. I booked the Butternut Loft for 3 nights. Though the cabin itself was good, I had a very bad experience with the management team. We Rented 2 Kayaks from Hiller Vacation home during our stay. One of the Kayak's was absolutely pathetic and wobbly. My wife almost flipped over when we took it to the lake first time. I raised the issue with the management and sent them the video proofs about the issue with the Kayak. But to my disappointment, they completely ignored my complain and were adamant on the fact that the Kayak was fine.

We stayed in the Eagle's Nest at Elbert's resort. The furnishings, kitchen, bathroom ,and floor old and dated. Many things broken, and no AC. If you want to spend $4000 for a week in the Northwoods, close to the lake, this is for you. For our family, not worth the money. I would like to add this is NOT a reflection on Hiller or their staff, they tried to help us, even offered a different cabin.
