Wonderful place to stop and find all kinds of information about Greene County and the surrounding areas. There is information on wineries, historical sites, all sorts of attractions, local artists, food and antiques. They also have many helpful maps. The space is lovely and well maintained, staff is friendly and truly wants to help. Definitely stop by if you are in the area.

I hate to give this entire center a bad rating, since some people there were extremely helpful, enthusiastic and professional. The map on their website of wineries, campgrounds and other local attractions is extremely useful to someone travelling on a budget through the Blue Ridge (fine eating, outdoor sleeping!)

However, after my experience with someone named Tracy who works at the office, I can't in good conscience recommend this tourism center as a stop for other travelers. Tracy was rude, pushy and unhelpful. I can't imagine why the county would hire someone like that to promote tourism. Maybe I caught her on a bad day, or she's just not used to working with the public, but in any case, if you are planning a visit to Charlottesville or Greene, be warned!

Tucked along U.S.29 South, this living remembrance of what it means to be Greene, was very interesting.
