Review: A Fun-Filled Day at Glenwood Caverns

Glenwood Caverns is an absolute blast! The gondola ride up the mountain alone is worth the price of admission, offering incredible views before you even reach the amusement park at the top.

The park features four awesome rides, and I had the chance to try two of them. The alpine coaster was a huge hit—both my son and I loved it. The slingshot ride, which launches you right off the edge of the mountain, is perfect for thrill seekers looking for an adrenaline rush.

One of the highlights of the visit was the cave tours. The standard cave tour is included in the $56 full-day ticket and lasts about an hour, with a knowledgeable guide sharing fascinating details about the caves and their preservation. We also opted for the blacklight cave tour for an additional $20, and it was totally worth it—such a fun and unique experience!

Plan to spend around 5 to 6 hours here for a full experience. The park is open from 10 AM to 6 PM, so there’s plenty of time to explore. The gift shop on the mountain is a nice stop, offering fun souvenirs and even free fudge samples. There’s also a cafeteria and a bar behind the gift shop, making it a great spot to relax.

I visited with my wife, a friend, and my seven-year-old son, and we all had an amazing time. Glenwood Caverns is definitely worth a visit for families and thrill seekers alike!

We had such a fun day here! It’s such a great spot on a sunny Colorado day. We loved everything it had to offer, loved the slide, gondola, canyon swing, cave tour! The workers were so friendly and welcoming! We could have easily spent more time here but had to catch our train home. Great little gift shop too and loved their fudge. Really fun spot and would recommend!

We were in Glenwood Springs for a surprise weekend getaway Iron Mountain Hot Springs (a sister company)...
We decided to stop and ride the Gondola up to take in the views, and it didn't disappoint! It was a little expensive, but a nice ride, and once you are up there, you can pick and choose what else interests you for entertainment. The weather was ok for November (typical Colorado) but not super conducive to being on a mountain top trying to do alpine slides or walk the shops... staff was helpful, and I would like to do the Cave Tour at some point. 5 out 5 - 4 sure 😆

This was such a great experience and adventure. The caverns were amazing, and the history surrounding it was incredible. Curtis was such a great tour guide and made us laugh every second with all his puns and storyline examples lol. The gondola ride makes of a beautiful view up the mountain and back down. So many ride attractions and plenty to see. Definitely worth coming here.

We were there in winter. Unfortunately, not much was open. Only the alpine coaster and the caves.
Sometimes we had to wait for over an hour.
The view from up there was phenomenal, especially in winter.
The waiting time for the gondolas was very short.

Very unique experience and i had a great time plus the food was really good and for it location on top of a mountain thats amazing just like the coasters like Defiance. if you are ever passing through on I-70 you should make this place one of your stops cause even if you dont like rides you can still eat a hamburger on top of a mountain with a view.

A must see attraction in Colorado! We had so much fun! The gondola right up was fun to be able to see the city below. The atmosphere and character of the place was fun and added to the experience. Some lines were long, but they have sign posts that give you an estimate of how long it will take so you can decide to wait or not. We did the cave tour, and our tour guide was entertaining and made the tour interesting. Quite a few of the rides are extreme if you’re into that sort of thing, my kids loved the rides and they’re 12 and 17. There were a couple of rides for younger kids too.

This is an absolute must!
The best experience I’ve ever had. Arriving you get your tickets and bracelet at the bottom, and the only way up and down the mountain is by gondola. The ticket purchased gets you access to everything from the rides to the cave tours. The food, and gift shop are not included.
This was my first time in a gondola 🚠 and it wasn’t scary at all (Especially being slightly afraid of heights).
A friend that rode up, and down with me is tremendously afraid of heights but he managed by just looking straight ahead, and not looking 👀 down. Once you arrive the parks open to you! They have rides, food, seating areas, and a gift shop. All of the staff for the rides were friendly, and very easy going. They made the scary rides fun! They have a few rides such as the alpine coaster, giant canyon swing, zip ride (last year), defiance coaster, Glenwood canyon flyer and many others. They do ask that you leave your belongings such as bags, and water bottles in the designated areas before getting on the rides. The alpine coasters I self controlled on the track as you go down the mountain and enjoy the scenery. It is a solo ride unless you have a little one that can ride with 1 adult. The instructors for the ride are great, and ensure your safety! The track brings you back up the mountain. The zip line was so much fun. This is the last year they will have this ride unfortunately so I had to take advantage as it was another first for me. The giant canyon swing was one that I did not anticipate would be scary, but it TOTALLY WAS! I rode it twice thinking sitting on the opposite side would make it better it didn’t. It was worth it though! I’d do it again in a heartbeat! The defiance coaster was sooooo much fun! 🤩 The ride up makes your heart start racing and as you get the the tip top you over seen all the mountains and then YOU DROP STRAIGHT DOWN! The ride isn’t very long, and goes by fast! 💨
Last but not least was the glenwood canyon swing which is 10 times crazier than the six flags swings, because it’s on the edge of the mountain. They have cave tours at certain times throughout the park hours which are very interesting, worth seeing. You have got to make the drive out from Denver. It’s about 3 hours from Denver, and the views are spectacular driving during the day. Now driving at night is different because it’s pitch black. The roads had a few construction 🚧 sites which slows the flow down. The tunnels are the only light along the highway back to Denver. You have got to try this place though!

I have attached a photo of how high the park is from the highway getting there!

The hot springs down the hill is a great way to finish off the day in the park.
