Nothing about The Lodge at Kingsbury Crossing is flashy—but what it is is clean, comfortable, and clearly maintained by a staff that takes real pride in the property.

We visited during the off season, and aside from the game of Tetris required to back our ski rig out of the parking lot (among other oversized ski rigs), you might’ve thought we were the only guests there. Our one-bedroom suite worked well enough for our family of four—our kids shared the pullout couch, and while we wouldn’t have turned down an upgrade, the space was cozy and quiet.

The unit was spotless, and we really appreciated the thoughtful touches: free laundry (huge win for families), a stash of board games behind the front desk, and a quick, professional follow-up call when we unknowingly left a bag behind at checkout.

If you're hoping for a hot tub and kid-friendly soak time, this might not be your spot. But if you're looking for a well-kept, affordable, family-friendly base close to Heavenly and downtown, this place delivers. Yes, they have some quirky rules and limited front desk hours—but it’s all clearly done with good intentions to maintain a peaceful environment.

There were a few small upgrades we’d recommend, but overall, we’d absolutely consider staying here again. It’s a gem for travelers who value comfort, cleanliness, and care over frills.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS LODGE! |They (Jennifer the manager) are total ripoffs and liars. Made a booking with Expedia and just 3 hours later discovered it was the correct dates but the wrong month. Dates wanted were unavailable, so asked hotel (Jennifer) for refund or at least credit for any other open dates. She flat out refused to alter any part of the booking that was just made 3 hours prior and was 6 days out so no foul to anyone. I’m a senior citizen who travels every two months making thousands of hotel stays and travel arrangements for 35 years and never experience such outright disrespect for customers when the fix is so easy. Manager Jennifer kept trying to say I had to contact Expedia as she can’t change the booking, and she admitted it was a simple mistake and “they” should refund me without issue. Well, this was just a brush off as Expedia, in writing stated they are happy to refund the stay and for 5 days contacted the hotel by email and calls for authorization and Jennifer denied it each time while telling me each time it was not her but Expedia denying it. That was a total lie! I spoke with Expedia and they were extremely helpful in trying the resolve this. In fact, we actually did a conference call with Expedia and myself on the line to the Lodge and all they had to do was approve the refund and Expedia would waive all fees to the hotel for cancelling the reservation so no harm to them. BUT the lodge would not answer the phone (must have caller ID and knew it was Expedia calling and just pushed the calls to a full voice mail. While on this conference call I had my wife call the Lodge and guess what? Jennifer the manager answered the phone right away, but would not answer any of the calls from Expedia.|I was in the ecommerce hotel industry for two decades and I can tell you, no company or policy should rip clients off like this when to resolve it was an easy process and no financial loss to anyone! I will never deal with that lodge or company again. If you are a traveller, tourist or senior, beware. We all know there are emergencies that affect travel plans and this hotel could care less once they have your money!

Absolutely horrible staff. My husband returned from the grocery store and was immediately accused by one of the front desk employees saying that he wasn’t staying in this lodge and threatened to have his car towed regardless of having a key card and telling the lady the floor and room number. I went to ask for towels for our room at the front desk and was met with an extremely disrespectful attitude.

We found this to be a very nice property to stay in when visiting Lake Tahoe. The apartment is very nicely renovated and in a really nice quiet area. The bed was very comfortable, and the sofa bed had an extra thick cushion. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots, coffee maker, toaster, etc. There is a grocery store just down the street, which was really convenient. The location is fantastic for getting to everything and we appreciated that parking is ample and always available when we returned. The staff at the front desk was great and they have a DVD library of movies. The only thing I did not like was that you have to pull off the sheets when you leave and throw them in the bathtub. I feel this should be done by the staff when they turn over the room after you depart. Lastly, I would not stay here in the summer months. It would be too hot without air conditioning. This property does not have air conditioning. When we stayed, the high was 70 and it was very comfortable, but anything warmer would not have been comfortable.

I've been back to this same resort quite a few times & never really been disappointed!||||Nice & close to Heavenly, technically you can walk in 20 mins to the Gondola.

Me & my boyfriend stayed here for my birthday. It was in the middle of the week It’s a timeshare so there are so many rules that weren’t in the reviews or on the website. The game room & sauna closes at 7 pm This was a HUGE disappointment It just felt so restricted & like it was for Sr citizens . The rooms are so tiny the lighting in sink vanity area is so dim. It was difficult to get ready. The couch was so uncomfortable the decor was dated The carpet was old. The balcony was made for only standing & looking. We were very disappointed we made the best of it Mike was very helpful. The staff were very friendly. The service was awesome.

We like to spend a week here about once/year lately. Affordable, nice atmosphere, well planned and furnished rooms with local taste in the room decor. Staffed only until 7 p.m., so use amenities before closing. This inconvenience negated by the provision of daily fruit and often snacks available in the lobby. Free DVDs. Ask for a view of the forest.
