I really enjoyed the tour! I read some of the other reviews and it seems some expected this to be like a haunted house you would go to around Halloween. It is not like that and is more of a history and folklore tour of the Decatur area. Stories of historic locations in Decatur, their background, the tragedies that occurred there, and the those that are left behind not just in memory and/or story. It is a long tour with only one location for a bathroom break along the way so keep that in mind if you decide to go. For our tour it was pretty rainy and cold so viewing the homes along the way from the bus was difficult, but I was more interested I the stories about the home and history more than anything personally. Our tour was lead by the Haunted Decatur author Troy Taylor which was also very awesome!

Don’t go! It is not worth the money. You sit in a steamy bus and look at houses that you can’t see through the steamy windows! I wanted to go inside of mansions or underground tunnels or see cool props! Not just try looking through a dark bus window! They take you to empty parking lots and tell stories! They take you through a grave yard and don’t tell you to bring a flash light!( I don’t want to waste the battery on my phone!) They should have gave us flash lights for a souvenir at least! No souvenirs at all. My sister almost hurt herself tripping on a tombstone! We walked up hill and down hill.Had to hold our urine for four hours! Not! Nothing to drink which was not allowed! Too dark to see! It was too long of a walk to see nothing interesting! It lasted 4 hours of story telling that became very boring of dragging the stories on. All we did was see empty parking lots which they told stories of buildings that don’t exist any more and a graveyard in the pitch black dark and sit on the bus and look through windows with their boring stories. We got tired of standing! I would have got more sight seeing from You tube or a book! That was a rip off! Not worth $42.00! The only thing worth it was riding in a bus!

The tour started off really good the gentleman conducting the tour was really good . Learning things about Decatur was interesting but the tour could have lasted only like an hour and a half to two hours at the most not for hours it started dragging and seeming very long and then you kind of lost interest

Hands down this is one of the best tours in the state of Illinois. History and Hauntings in Decatur. Well worth checking out this tour. It's been going strong for 25+ years.
