We love this place! This was our second stay. It's nice to have the privacy and convenience of a kitchen.

Looking for a romantic, rustic, and relaxing getaway? Look no further. Let your hosts Jim and Katy welcome you to Olde Squat Inn. Old world charming log cabins surrounding a beautiful lake. Step inside and be transported back in time to colonial times where functionality and comfortable living is the order of the day. Share a nice bottle of wine while snuggling in front of a beautiful cast iron stove emanating a warmth only wood burning stoves can provide. Then , as the sunsets over the lake, slip into a comfortable quilted bed and be lulled to sleep by the sounds of nature.

Totally Unique! Amazing collection of Old log cabins, a hewn barn, on a pond/lake. This is NOT a Holiday Inn. The owner Jim is friendly and even put some fresh cut peonies, iris etc in our historic cabin.
Only several of the cabins are available in which to stay - the majority are wonderfully “as they were”.
We loved the historical items in cabins from door hardware to quilts and books. Do not expect TV’s or WiFi or hotel accommodations with sanitary seals on toilets. Do expect a totally unique, funky place you may want to return to for a longer stay. - We immediately re-booked while sitting with Mr.Jim.
And the Birds are INCREDIBLE!! Many new to this amateur birder.

This was a wonderful place to stay. Jim and Katy were wonderful hostesses and the breakfast was AMAZING! This is an amazing place that is indeed rustic and full of experiences! The atmosphere is relaxing and views are beautiful. I loved swinging on the porch which was a great way to start and end the day. There was also a beautiful pond which we had a great time fishing at! Like some of the comments mentioned this is like steeping back in a time machine. These cabins are definitely rustic and may not be for everyone but it was the perfect place for my husband and I to get away!

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary at the lake cabin. We absolutely loved it! If your looking for a glamorous stay, this is not the place for you. It's authentic and rustic and fit our needs perfectly. We enjoyed sitting on the porch swing looking out at the water. We enjoyed visits from the owners 2 dogs. They had a charcoal grill and we grilled both nights. We also enjoyed our fire pit. We are already planning another weekend stay in the fall.

We absolutely enjoyed our time! Jim and Katy were so kind and took great care of us. We were visiting family for Thanksgiving and I am glad we found this place. We stayed 2 nights to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We stayed in the lake cabin. It was everything we needed! If you're looking for something glamorous, this is not the place for you. It was a rustic and authentic experience. We spent a majority of our time on the porch swing. A charcoal grill was provided and we cooked outside both nights. It's a very dog friendly place. And the owners dog came and napped in our porch a few times. Jim and Katie were great hosts. We had a wonderful weekend and will definitely be planning a weekend getaway in the fall.

Absolutely loved the cabin! It was built originally in the 1840s and the owners brought the one we stayed in (and many others) back and fixed them up with modern amenities. I especially loved the porch, the outdoor fireplace, the rustic wooden beams and the loft. The breakfast was home cooked and very good. The husband and wife who owned/ran the place were very nice. I will (and have) definitely recommend this place to others!
