It provides nice views for photos of the Mono Lake. Was closed when we arrived. We did not have time to explore the trails. The drive from Yosemite Valley out to Mono Lake is very scenic, with meadows, multicolor hills, volcanoes, lakes, rivers, and small glaciers.

I visited this place in 2020 when it was closed due to a wildfire. I'm glad I got the chance to stop by again.

They have a beautiful, small trail behind the visitor center and plenty of parking.

Gift shop has cute things. And the education center is informative about the area. Also clean restrooms and a place to fill your water bottles.

One of the better visitor centers with indoor displays and lots of outdoor signage, all of it easily accessible. The panoramic view of Mono Lake isn’t bad either. Several family and pet friendly nature trails go down to the waters edge. A great pit stop or interesting leg stretch before moving on. Plenty of parking.

FIX THE ROAD PLEASE!!! If you have an RV, you might want to consider whether skipping this. For more than 5 years now the paved road to the visitor center has horrible ruts that run across the entire roadway. Some of them are 4 inches deep and three or 4 inches wide. It will shake the hell out of your coach. It’s not right it should be fixed and they’re lazy not to fix this and make it a priority. I whatever you want to know about mono lake you can find elsewhere without tearing up your vehicle.

Unfortunately it was closed. It was a pretty spot to stop and take a little hike to the lake. There were no restrooms!! We really had to go! Luckily, there's a Chevron a couple of minutes down the road from this place, it was a life saver! There are a couple of cute trails here. We did one to the lake and back. It was great! What an interesting site! Highly recommended!!
