The staff couldn't be nicer, always gracious and accommodating. They take their job very seriously and make you feel at home. Nice hotel, very clean, great breakfast options. The real 5 star rating comes with the beds. Very comfortable and easy to get good rest!!

Newer hotel / remodel, staff was great, check-in was flawless. The whole hotel was spotless! Rooms had usb outlets located for ease of use. Newer smart tv set up for streaming if desired - would be great for families w kids!

I usually stay in Carbondale when visiting family at a competitor hotel. No longer. This place was a gem. Very well run, I was greeted as a rewards member, my room and bedding were top notch for the price. The service from the housekeeping staff and the breakfast team was excellent and very cheerful. I actually used the pool and hot tub, they were far better than what I have seen at other similar hotels in recent years. As stated before, I used to default to competitor hotels, but no longer. I am Holiday Inn fan now!

My kids and I love to get away from time to time at this hotel location. Always have a great experience. We go just to get away from everyday life as if we're on a mini vacation. The breakfast is always amazing and we enjoy swimming and relaxing. It's a great experience each time.

This is a great hotel with excellent service. Staff is very friendly & helpful. Everything is clean & very updated. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful! Those cinnamon rolls are phenomenal! We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

The staff here are incredible. From Raven and Nate at check in to the very friendly elderly lady that works in the breakfast lounge to the young black lady who also works in the breakfast lounge and sometimes at the front desk(I’m sorry for not having names). This lady’s smile and attitude are infectious and make ME smile every time I see her.

Positive: The food was good, and they provided a nice variety. Staff in the dining room were very nice and they made sure the food was adequate. Negative: In the first room we were given, food, drinks and an ice bucket with melted ice water were left in the refridgerator. The heat did not work. It would only blow cold air. They gave us another room, which we moved ourselves to. The rest of our stay was ok.

I had a good one-night stay here last week while visiting a local coal mine with colleagues and customers.||Check in was fast and friendly, and they recognised IHG status for those who had it. The room was clean, although the corridors did smell a bit musty. The wi fi was fast and there is ample parking.||The room had an old-fashioned shower-over bath and the elevator felt very old and slow. A functional hot and cold breakfast was provided, however all the plates and cutlery were disposable (seems so wasteful).||All up a good but not spectacular stay. Definitely somewhere you would stay for business travel and not for a vacation. There are plenty of shops nearby and a few restaurants too. ||If I was visiting Sparta again, I would definitely stay here again.
