This house was perfect for a family weekend in the mountains. We really enjoyed the house and the property. The balcony is amazing. The house had everything we needed and it is in a great location. The house had plenty of space to relax. The boys loved the game room and the disc golf hole on the property. There was a hiking trail within a short walking distance of the house. I would highly recommend this property.

A perfect property in which to relax
The first impression of the property was how lovely the area was. The pine trees surrounding the buildings set the scene for a wonderful stay. It was quiet, and peaceful, morning and night. There is a beautiful lake within walking distance where we could exercise, or just go to admire the views. We were so pleased with the meticulous detail which was carried throughout the rooms, the placement of throws and pillows, the availability of brochures about things to do around northern az, even the turned down corners of the toilet tissue in the bathrooms was noticed. Several of us like to cook, and we were not at a loss when it came to pots, pans, cutlery, blender, kettle, plenty of dishware, and more. I’d definitely visit this property again.

Shhh! Don’t tell anyone else how great this place is!
Long weekend with the girls and this place was perfect! We all had our own room and plenty of space. I think the back deck was our favorite spot to hang out. Plenty of wildlife to enjoy. Sat out there for hours feeding the squirrels, chipmunks and birds. Loved having the firepit to use too. Enjoyed having use of the garage to park in too. Kitchen was well stocked and we didn’t need a thing. Lots of games available and even a couple of bikes. A few in our group loved having access to the trails in the forest behind the house. I think we will be back!

So close to the airport and surrounding city options, but still felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. So much space and amazing views from every angle. The pool/spa felt amazing and the small 'grassy' area was a great addition for some yard play. The beds were comfortable and even though it took a minute to get hot water in the shower/kitchen, it was definitely hot once it got there. I would absolutely come back to this spot.

Beautiful property!
We loved everything about this property except for the job done by the cleaning professionals before we arrived. This is a 5-star stay/home, only lessened by the cleaning crew's lack of attention to detail. We loved the newness of the appliances, the home itself, the location and views, and the pool. The neighbors were also very friendly! Our concerns with the cleaning were resolved through Vacasa customer service and the property manager. They took our concerns seriously and made every attempt to validate and correct the situation. Overall, we had a great stay, and we would recommend this property, and we would stay again!

Elegant home situated right by trails & creek very quiet!! The home has all the amenities guests could want. Fantastic kitchen for cooking! Endless supply of towels & linens!

Jacuzzi was fantastic & we watched the milky way & shooting stars every night! The steam room was heaven on earth & at one point three of us used it together.

We had a mobile massage (sparrow mobile massage) come to the house & had the best massage ever!

We hiked to Cathedral Rock & enjoyed all the trails around the home! We even did a cold plunge in the creek. The city of sedona is only 20+ minutes away & it’s so easy to access all the incredible sites! We will definitely stay again!

PS (Suggest the room with the twin & trundle be used for kids only but it can be used for adults: just be sure you’re aware of that up front. I slept on the trundle but put in the massive walk in closet of one of the master bedrooms with sliding doors & had my own private suite & loved it!)

Oasis in the middle of nowhere

The outside / pool area was fabulous. - the pool just stunning and the seating area had electric shades so you could enjoy being outside at any time of the day.
The inside was equally matched. It was obviously owned by people who took a lot of care with its furnishings. They are very well travelled people with paintings / ornaments and books from all over the world. There was always something new to look at. We really enjoyed staying at Fallen Shadows and would not hesitate to recommend it.

A Desert Oasis
As other reviewes have said, the secluded location is incredible if you are wanting a true desert feel. Fell asleep to nearby coyotes yelping a few nights. The pool area was fantastic and and very secure for dogs. The two sun umbrellas in the garage were a welcome addition (holes in patio for those). The home has a true adobe feel and the layout provides nice privacy for two different parties. The grill worked perfectlty (not the case with many other rentals we have had!) and we enjoyed making meals on it and in the kitchen. We did not use the casita but that's a cool option for extra guests (sofa pull-out). Expect to wait a few minutes for warm or hot water to start to flow but a small price to pay for such a unique property and location. Wi-fi worked well and tvs are streaming only with your own sign-ins. Less than 10 mins from a large grocery store but you will feel like you are far away from civilization. There is a cool trail through the desert accessed just south of the property great for running, walking, biking. Lots of wildlife, birds, and amazing night-sky watching awaits you here. Everyone loved our stay at the desert z!
