My experience with Kayak Chicago was overall quite good, but there were a couple of minor hiccups that kept me from giving it a full 5-star rating.

Let's start with the positives. The kayaking adventure itself was fantastic. The location along the Chicago River provided stunning views of the city's skyline, and paddling through the calm waters was both serene and invigorating. The staff was friendly and helpful, giving us a thorough briefing on safety and making sure we were comfortable before we set off on our journey. The kayaks were in decent condition, and we had an enjoyable time exploring the river and its surroundings.

However, I must admit that the pricing felt a little steep. While the experience was undoubtedly enjoyable, I couldn't shake the feeling that it was a bit overpriced compared to similar kayaking services in the area. Some additional perks or value-added services could have justified the cost better.

Another minor issue was the lack of a payment receipt. After making the payment, I expected to receive a confirmation or receipt via email or text message, but unfortunately, it never arrived. This left me feeling slightly uneasy about the transaction, especially considering the higher price point.

Despite these shortcomings, I want to emphasize that the overall experience was positive. The thrill of kayaking in such a picturesque location, the knowledgeable and friendly staff, and the enjoyment of being on the water overshadowed the minor inconveniences. It's a great activity to do with friends or family, and it offers a unique perspective of Chicago that you won't get from land.

If Kayak Chicago addresses the pricing and receipt concerns, I wouldn't hesitate to give them a full 5-star rating in the future. Nevertheless, I would recommend it to others who are looking for a fun and memorable kayaking experience in the heart of Chicago.

I've rented a kayak from here 3 times over the course of the last 3 years. Each time it has been easy to get in with and without a reservation (party of 1-2). They have a free parking lot on-site. Staff is always polite and friendly.

The ride to and from downtown from this location is about 2 hours round trip. The view from the river of the high rises is amazing. I've also seen turtles on the part of the river that doesn't allow commercial boats.

I highly recommend the experience and this company 😀

Incredible architecture kayak tour led by Adam! Adam was fun, engaging and very knowledgeable about the city’s history and kayaking. The group was led very safely — no one was ever left behind and everyone’s safety was ensured. We even got to stop at certain spots to safely take photos. The 3 hour tour was incredible!

The kayaks, life jackets and paddles were very clean. Something my group really appreciated as not all outdoor sport companies are as attentive with cleanliness and hygiene — we really appreciated this about Kayak Chicago.

This was the ultimate Chicago experience!!

Stunning views of Chicago. The water is clean and the skyscrapers seem infinite when looking up from the water. We rented a kayak for 2 and had our 4 year old in the middle. It was incredible family fun.
