I have followed the work Jim Martin does at the Shepherd's Office for more than 10 years. I am impressed by his generosity and kindness to all. He established a team and a system that allows for clothing and food distribution daily. In winter they makes sure that many have access to tents, blankets and heaters. Jim works with homeless individuals and families to make connections that lead to jobs, housing, and health services. Each year he adds another layer of services to meet the needs of these forgotten folks. In addition to the physical needs, he gives attention to their mental health and spiritual needs with prayer services and contacts with counselors and peers. The world is a better place with his being here.

Several years ago, way before the pandemic my family was homeless.. The Shepherds office showed up and helped in ways I'd never imagined. Not just helping find a sponsor to help us with a hotel, but they fed us. Food for our stomach's yes, but also for the soul. Mr Jim reminded me of God's grace and mercy. He reminded me that although I was homeless, I wasn't hopeless. I had the Lord Jesus Christ in my life. Drugs weren't an issue, but have been a part of my story. God gave me the most awesome little boy and I gave him my everlasting love the same as he did for me.
Mr Jim, knowing we were proud people as my husband did work 12 hours a day at the chicken plant. He reminded us, it wasn't a handout. He was giving us a HAND UP. I've watched Shepherd's office bloom and grow over the years and they've added lots of things
I'm no longer living in Delaware, but I remain close to Mr Jim and His Wife Mrs Cat. They became family in Christ and I've never been more grateful. I'd give Shepherd's office 1000 star's, but if l lived in Sussex county and needed help, I'd call on the Shepherd's place, for the hungry, homeless or lonely meals. Or Free bread.

Jim. My wife and I believe in the mission of The Shepherds Office. You, Eric, Greta and the other volunteers do a great job of helping the homeless and the challenged. Without the basics of life, these individuals will not be able to survive or move on from their addictions. Keep up the good work. "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

Shepherd's Office is truly an amazing organization. People from all over Sussex County donate and help because they know their donations and help will help those in need. Jim Martin and his volunteers put in numerous hours and give so much of themselves.

I had went in for help to get birth certificates so I can get an apartment and that was back in March. Every time I had checked to see if they came in they would tell me no. I still haven't heard anything to this day. I had gotten enough money to order 1 and it only took a week. Then I was looking at not having a place to live and asked for help with a tent and got told "we don't give tents to women" then a couple weeks later I heard a couple of women talking about how they had just gotten a tent from them. I feel like they pick and choose who they want to help.

I was blessed to volunteer here today and what an incredible experience. Seeing Genuine care and hard work that everyone puts into the shepherd’s office in Georgetown really touched my heart. They try to help as many people as they can. They need to continue to get your support and mine to help our neighbors in need. I highly suggest getting involved.

Shepherd's Office is a shining beacon of light in our county. They serve thousands of people by feeding them, offering spiritual support, providing clothing and household necessities. I hope that every Sussex County neighbor will support the cause with cash donations, food and clothing. They can only continue the mission with our help. $5 makes a difference. $25 helps more!
