Our second hotel on this trip and a BIG improvement from the Best Western Denver airport hotel. It is nicely located in the cosy old art of town and the service is great. The rooms have kept the old atmosphere but are still up to date. At check inn we had to select breakfast and time and it was a nice surprise that was delivered on our door the next morning.

Room 303 is big and comfortable and has a nice view of the mountains. It also has a kitchenette. The location is central to down town. It has a free nearby parking lot a block away. The staff was nice. It was very clean. The delivered breakfast that was included has a yogurt parfait with granola and fruit. Also freshly baked muffins and orange juice. Half (milk) and half (cream) was also provided for in-room drip coffee.

Colorado is dotted with cool little towns, including Salida, located in the heart of the Rockies 3 hours from Denver. This is where I discovered the historic and romantic Palace Hotel, a boutique hotel that stole my heart — and it will do the same to you.

Located steps from the banks of the Arkansas River, the newly renovated Palace Hotel is in a red-brick building located across from the Riverside Park. Construction first began in this hotel back in 1906, and the property passed through several hands over the years. In 2009, Fred and Vicki Klein purchased the hotel, ultimately taking three years to restore it bringing it back to its former grandeur, turning 40 rooms into 14 uniquely-themed, luxury suites.

Very conveniently located to River & Downtown. The hotel is charming , clean & beautiful. The rooms are enchanting , cozy & full of history . It was a great sleep , earplugs on side table of bed if needed . They are on the main street area. The complimentary breakfast was a delight. Excellent warm muffins & wonderful coffee & cream & assorted teas. Thank you we loved our stay & will certainly try to visit again.

I honestly wish that I could give the Palace Hotel more than five stars. Our stay was lovely! We were warmly greeted by the charming and kind Lucky, the front desk manager. He is a true gem and relayed stories about the various historical photos that adorn the walls.

We stayed in a beautifully appointed king suite on the second floor. The room had everything we needed and more! The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the in-unit air conditioner kept the room at a fantastic temperature.

Don’t skip out on breakfast! The gluten free muffins were literally the best muffins I’ve ever had. Thank you, Palace Hotel, for the lovely accommodations. We’ll be back!

Absolutely perfect. We were scheduled to come in really late so Trish called and gave us our check in instructions and breakfast info. She also emailed the instructions. The breakfast was a granola parfait, warm muffin, orange juice, and coffee. It was really delicious and fresh. We also had a question and called James who answered immediately. The location is great and the room itself was really clean and great “antique” decor. We also loved having the kitchen because we had food to store. It’s a shame we couldn’t stay longer, but we will definitely be back.

We stayed in the only family suite. It was great in just about every way. Recently remodeled in a modern style. Very reasonably priced for a king, sleeper and full kitchen in the heart of downtown. Perfect for a small family. The park across the street is a bonus with kids. Includes private parking and a private entrance, which were great, but also a little quirky. The shower leaked all over the floor. A soggy towel on an otherwise great stay. Recommended.

This is a very nice, historic-feeling hotel in a great location in one of my favorite little Colorado towns. I was in a really comfortable suite with lots of room, a good bed and a kitchenette. You get a good, light breakfast delivered to your room, and the service overall was excellent. I'll definitely stay at the Palace again.
